How licensing works

The same terms for every Kavio Labs module for PrestaShop, in plain English. The full legal text is in the license agreement.

One price, one store

Each module has one license for one PrestaShop installation. The price is on the product page. At checkout you choose the update period and, if you need it, a license for a second store at 40% off.

Updates and renewal

Every license includes 12 months of updates and support. You can choose 24 months (+40%) or 36 months (+70%) at checkout. New versions are in My licenses under Downloads; the Documentation tab of each module shows how to install an update. When the period ends, the module keeps working and you keep every version released during it. Renewal is optional and costs 50% of the current price.

Domains and staging

  • A license is bound to one production domain, the one you enter at checkout, and covers every subdomain of it: www., shop., staging..
  • Local development hosts are always free: localhost, private IP addresses and host names ending in .local, .test or .localhost.
  • A store on another domain needs its own license. Moving your store to a new domain? Support moves the license for you.

License check

The module checks with our server that its license is valid for your store's domain: when you save the key, then once a day, only from your PrestaShop admin panel. Storefront requests never wait for it. It sends the license key, the module ID and version, your store's host names, the PrestaShop version and a random one-time value. No customer, order or personal data.

A new installation works for 14 days before a key is needed, and if our server cannot be reached the module keeps working for 14 days. Without a valid license the module switches its own features off safely: no error, no message to your customers, your checkout keeps working and your settings are kept.

Refunds

If a module does not work for you, ask for a refund within 30 days of your first purchase of it, from your account or by ticket. No questions. The license is deactivated when the refund is issued. The details are in the refund policy.
